Welcome to my art gallery of natural scenes. The original oil paintings displayed below are part of a larger collection. The remainder of my portfolio will be available for viewing online in the future.

My father was an oil painter who also loved to paint birds. I grew up with the smell of oil-based paint coming from his studio. In early 1999, this same smell drew me back in time as I worked to refinish a chair. I had never painted with oils before, but the smell reminded me of my father and the joy he received in creating what he referred to as “two-dimensional illusions.” Another one of my inspirations is my husband, an ecologist, ornithologist, and videographer. Many of the paintings below are recreations of scenes that were originally captured through the lens of his video camera in the production of Video Guide to Identifying Florida Birds (www.hspi.us).

I hope you enjoy browsing the paintings below that depict the natural world. Those marked “Not available” are sold or held in private collections. If you are interested, I would be happy to create a custom painting for your home or office. You could select the scene, size, and color palette to complement your decor.
